If you have never been to SCP, you are really missing out.  This is a classic steakhouse,  the new york strip was probably the best steak I’ve ever had.  It came with a choice of soup or salad, I had the tomato onion salad, a baked potato  (my choice out of several options) loads of FRESH sautéed mushrooms, and a delicious au jus.  We tried the coconut shrimp appetizer (my dates choice) I must say, I ordinarily don’t enjoy coconut but they were really, really yummy….they were served with a raspberry horseradish sauce which I thought was a welcome change to the usual tropical fruit sauce most places serve. Since moving back to St. Charles, I have been back to St. Charles Place multiple times because of the wonderful experience I have each and every time. Tom is one of the most kind people you could ever meet and he runs a truly unique place. The decor and atmosphere can only be described as fun, classy, eclectic, quirky, and old school with a romantic edge. From the hanging monkeys to works of art to the giant brick fireplace in the middle of the main dining room. There really isn’t anything like it. Truly love the menu, it has so many options. My wife and I were in town and after reading reviews online decided to stop at St. Charles Placed for dinner. Service was EXCELLENT! Meal was EXCELLENT! Best steak I have ever had in my life. Will come back again.

Excellent service, excellent food in an eclectic setting. You have to understand that coming from Alberta, which is cattle country in Canada, when I say that a prime rib roast is excellent, it’s a huge compliment. Hoping that my travels bring me back to Saint Charles so that I can come back to this restaurant!

You can always count on St Charles place to have exceptional service and food. Hungry for a steak we stopped in without reservations on a Saturday night and ushered to a nice table without a fuss.
